## From Reverend Michael H. Baun
Hello friend, my name is Michael Baun. I started the MHB Bible Archive to form a compendium of Biblical knowledge which is highly searchable. I want to leave something behind so I can guide you through the timeless treasures of Holy Scripture even when I'm gone. I don't plan on going anywhere soon, but this project will be a massive time investment to develop properly. It is truly my life's work in one vault. All of it is here: everything I thought, wrote, and preached. I'm using Obsidian as my infrastructure because it has the highest potential for interconnecting ideas. You may know this, but the Word of God is [[Self-Referential|self-referential]] in nature. It is the world's first hyperlinked text. My aim is for this repository of knowledge to share a similar interconnectedness.
## How the Archive Works
There are two ways to search. You can search by topic or you can search by verse. When you search by topic, use keywords associated with that topic. For example, if you want to know what the Bible says about drinking alcohol you would search: [[Alcohol|alcohol]] or [[Alcohol|drinking alcohol]]. A topical search will reveal my teaching on that subject as well as the scriptures which support my claims. When you search by verse, you simply enter the reference for any verse in the Bible. Searching [[Genesis 1.1-2]] will reveal my teaching on those verses. I will almost always teach multiple verses together because context is critically important, but I'll tag each passage by individual verse as well. You can also use the directory on the left side of the archive to browse passages in biblical order or topics in alphabetical order.
## Why is this different than A.I. or a search engine?
The problem with depending on A.I. or search engines for developing biblical [[Wisdom|wisdom]] is that the sources are chosen for you. [[Jesus Christ]]'s model for [[Discipleship|discipleship]] is predicated on the mentor-apprentice relationship. You can depend on accurate teaching when you trust the source. MHB Bible Archive is developed for those who know and trust me as a theologian. If its utility expands beyond those circles, then [[Soli Deo Gloria|soli deo gloria]]!
